Install Instructions for GDO-4 & GDO-6 EasyRoller Battery Back Up Kit

Important: Please follow instructions below for safe and easy installation.
– Follow steps 1 through 18 for sequence of installation.
– Numbers in brackets refer to items in Parts List.
1. Disconnect power to the opener and disengage motor.
2. Remove main cover from the opener.
3. Secure Lock Circuit Board Support (4) into the 4.8mm holes in the base (See Fig. 1).
4. Feed Wiring Harness (2) through the 30mm hole in the base (See Fig. 1).
5. Mount the Charger Board SBY-3 v1.00 (1) on base and swing in to lock with LC Board Support (4) (See Fig. 2).
6. Remove Light Diffuser.
7. Connect Wiring Harness (2) to Control Board socket (See Fig. 3).
8. Remove M4 x 12 screw securing Transformer wires. Secure Harness (3) using existing cable clamp and fasten screw (See Fig. 4).
9. Position the cable clamp (11) over harness (3) and secure with taptite screw “P” M3.5 x 8 (12) (See Fig. 4).
10. Mount the Batteries Assembly onto opener (located above the door axle) and secure with screws (10).
Warning: After Step 11 the opener may become active (even when power is off). This is a result of a residual charge in the batteries transferring power to the opener when harnesses (2) & (3) are connected. This will only occur if batteries still hold some charge.
11. Connect harness (3) & (7) together (See Fig. 3).
12. Refit Main Cover to the opener.
13. Reconnect power and re-engage the motor.
14. Press either OSC button or transmitter to test the opener.
15. Whilst door is in motion disconnect main power. (When mains power is cut, battery back up should respond to the shut down. The door should continue to operate as normal). wait for the door to complete its travel.
Warning: If the door moves very slowly refer to trouble shooting guide.
16. Press OSC or transmitter to activate the door.
17. Whilst door is in motion re-connect power. The door should continue to travel to stop limit.
18. Refit Light Diffuser.
Trouble Shooting Guide:
If door stops or moves very slowly under battery power:
– Batteries are weak or have no charge – connect power and allow to charge.
– Batteries may take 24 – 48 hours to reach maximum charge capacity.
